Useful Information
Here are some helpful tips on what to do next!
Marriage LICENSe
In Ohio, a marriage license is required to get married. A license can be obtained through your local county court. If you are a resident of Ohio, the license should be issued in the county in which you live. If you are not a resident of Ohio, the license should be issued in the county in which the ceremony will take place. Licenses are valid for 60 days.
Each county has their own requirements. Here are some links for Franklin and surrounding counties. Please refer to the appropriate county for more information.
Social Security ADMINISTRATION
Once your marriage license has been received by the Probate Court, you can order the Certified Copy of the license. After receiving it, you may start the process of changing your name
Please refer to the Social Security Administration for more information.
